Saka Energi Indonesia (PGN Saka), an affiliate of PGN Subholding Gas Pertamina, through Saka Indonesia Pangkah Limited, received the 2024 Dharma Karya Energy and Mineral Resources Award in the “MUDA” category. This award was for PGN Saka’s innovation in optimizing LPG production with the LPG Plant Recycle Line Installation at the LPG Processing Facility (LPGF) in the Onshore Processing Facility (OPF) Gresik. The award was presented by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), and PGN Saka’s PC-PROVE SIPLAH team was selected to represent the company in receiving this recognition
The event was attended by Indonesia’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, at the National Monument field, coinciding with the 79th Anniversary of Mining and Energy on Thursday, October 10, 2024. The Dharma Karya Award is a form of recognition from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for individuals, groups, and institutions that have contributed innovative ideas with significant impacts on national development, especially in the energy and mineral resources sector.
“This Dharma Karya Award is meant to motivate the people working in the energy and mineral resources sector to keep creating and delivering the nation’s best work,” Bahlil said.
The PC-PROVE SIPLAH team previously participated in the PGN Innovation Award 2023 and won Gold, followed by the Annual Pertamina Quality Awards 2024, where they took home Bronze. Due to these accomplishments, PGN Saka was given the opportunity by PGN to represent the Subholding Gas in the Dharma Karya award selection along with two other representatives. After going through the selection process, proposal submission, presentations, evaluations, and a site-visit verification by ESDM experts and professors, PGN Saka’s innovation earned the award.
The PC-PROVE SIPLAH team’s innovation was born from a projection of declining gas production in 2023, which was projected to drop below the LPG Plant’s turndown rate of 20 MMSCFD. If this happens, PGN Saka could face a Loss of Production Opportunity (LPO) as the LPG Plant would stop operating. The PC-PROVE SIPLAH team, formed by Sulistyo Handoko, Indra Gunawan, Ifani Ramadhani, Prasojo, Lusia Pratiwi, Adhi Kurniawan, Hannan Fathoni, and Herman Pranata, managed to prevent this, and this innovation also represents cross-department collaboration within PGN Saka.
“An award is not just about the achievement, but about the journey of innovation written with persistence,” said the SIPLAH team.
