PT Saka Energi Indonesia (PGN Saka), an affiliate of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (“PGN”) under Pertamina’s Gas Subholding, received the Best Professional Oral Presentation award in the Facilities Operation Improvement category at the 49th Indonesian Petroleum Association Convention and Exhibition (IPA Convex 2025). The event, themed “Delivering Growth with Energy Resilience in Lower Carbon Environment,” was held on May 20–22, 2025, at ICE BSD, Tangerang.
The opening of IPA Convex 2025 was officiated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and witnessed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia; Head of SKK Migas, Djoko Siswanto; IPA Convex 2025 President, Carol J. Gall; Senior Energy Advisor, Purnomo Yusgiantoro; and attended by President Commissioner of Pertamina – Mochamad Iriawan, President Director of Pertamina – Simon Aloysius Mantiri, as well as PGN Saka’s management including President Director – Medy Kurniawan, Director of Operations – Achmad Agus Miftakhurroman, Director of Finance and Business Support – Jimmy Lambey, and Commissioner – M. Sulhan Fauzi.
In his opening speech, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of energy independence as part of the national development agenda, calling for continuous efforts to achieve national energy self-sufficiency.
“We must not depend on other nations for energy. We must be self-reliant, and the oil and gas industry are key elements in our grand strategy for achieving energy independence,” said Prabowo.
Minister Bahlil Lahadalia also stated that Indonesia still holds vast oil and gas potential that remains underexplored.
“Out of 128 basins, 68 have yet to be explored. With the potential we have, the key is to work harder and be more innovative,” said Bahlil. He also highlighted the importance of utilizing technologies such as fracking and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), along with improving the investment climate to support growth in the sector.
Supporting the event, PGN Saka participated as a silver sponsor and earned the prestigious Best Oral Presentation award, presented to Raditia Wiyadi from the Information Technology and Data Management Department. His presentation introduced the Processing Integrated Transformation Analytics (PITA) technology innovation, designed to optimize processes by adopting open-source platforms and integrating them with enterprise solutions at PGN Saka. Developed with Irfan Prastomo, the innovation was titled: “Building Enterprise Data and Machine Learning Platform with Processing Integrated Transformation Analytics Technology in Saka Energi Indonesia.”
PGN Saka also contributed to the Student & Professional Showcase program through a poster presentation by Farid Dasa Marianto from the Exploration Department. His scientific poster, titled “Enhancing Seismic Resolution for Deeper Target Exploration in Transition Zone of Pangkah, NE Java Basin,” aims to improve seismic imaging quality in unexplored deeper target zones—potentially contributing to increased oil and gas reserves in the Pangkah Working Area. The poster was a collaborative effort with Achmad A. Kaswandi, Agus Setiana, Baharianto Irfree, and Afriadhi Triwerdan.
As part of the government’s commitment to accelerating upstream oil and gas development, seven project signings were conducted at IPA Convex 2025 and witnessed directly by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. In total, more than 30 agreements and partnership announcements were made during the event.
IPA Convex 2025 also served as a platform to reaffirm the critical role of the upstream oil and gas sector in energy transition. With a spirit of collaboration and innovation, PGN Saka remains committed to contributing to energy resilience and national economic growth.
