Build A Place They Can Call Home - Saka Volunteer Program 2016

 

Saka collaborated with Habitat for Humanity together have the same commitment in improving the wellbeing of vulnerable families, one of which is building decent houses. Saka Energi Indonesia through Saka Volunteer Program encouraged its employees to volunterally involve in building five decent, simple and healthy houses for vulnerable families in Kampung Gang Menteng, Cijayanti Village, Region Babakan Madang, Sentul – Bogor.

 

This program was divided into two batches; first batch was held on April 30, 2016 for two vulnerable families and has handed over the house to the family on June 15 and second batch was held on October 22 for three vulnerable families. Team spirit brought the Saka employees back on the field. Two groups on First Batch and three groups on Second Batch were formed and empowered, wherein each group consisted of 9 – 12 people. Each group involved to help build a house.

 

“I thank Saka for making my dreams come true. Now, I have a house that I can use it for immunization activity centre once a month for the community here,” said Hasan, the house owner. While for Atikah (Hasan’s wife), she feels so happy because the roof is not leaking anymore and children are able to study well. “We will take good care of this house,”said Atikah, smiling.

 

By doing social activities together, it is not only bring goodness to others, but lead to greater synergy and closer collaboration in the team to achieve a target. Saka remains committed to create a positive impact for the community.
